Disclosure: I was invited for a comped FAM trip to get familiar with what is new and exciting with Great Wolf Lodge, all thoughts and opinions are mine
What New At Great Wolf Lodge?
Earlier this month I had the privileged of visiting Great Wolf Lodge at the Grand Mound location in Washington with my children. It has been a few years since our last visit and surprisingly lot has changed! Of course you will still be able to enjoy 398 themed rooms and 12 suites that is perfect for families. Come year round to the guest only swim ground where it’s always a beautiful 84 degrees! In the pool area you will be able to zip and twirl down 7 water slides and go with the flow in their wave pool!
The purpose of the visit was to learn about all the family fun during their Howl-o-ween extravaganza
and other up coming seasonal attractions.
During Howl-o-ween, the lodge is transformed into a magical “spooky” retreat perfect for all ages! No detail is left out, from decorations, to the food and everything in-between Great Wolf Lodge has embraced the season. Starting October 1st, the lodge is covered from head to toe in Halloween. The kids favorite decoration was the giant balloon spider that they said took over 2 weeks to create. Under the spider is where they host their nightly balloon drop Monster Mash dance party where kids can get down with their parents to some of the most popular Halloween dance songs.
When you visit Great Wolf Lodge a MUST, no matter what age you are is the nightly story time. During the month of October, it turns into Spooktacular Story Time! Snuggle up in front of their signature fireplace and their full sized “haunted house” for a not so scary story that all will love. This is not a time to be shy as most will be in their PJ’s to get into the spirit. At the end of storytime, you can stay for a special photo op for you and your children with Wiley the Wolf and his crew.
During the Howl-o-ween season, make sure you pack your costumes, because you won’t want to miss the Trick-Or-Treat Trail starting at 6:00 pm each night. Here you will make your way around the lodge as you visit their not-so scary trail stops, where you will collect tricks-or-treats as you go!
It’s not too early to start thinking about the holiday right now, in fact to get the best rate, I suggest you book today!
Snowland is coming up! Starting November 24th through January 4th, 2019, Great Wolf Lodge transforms into a magical winter wonderland complete with spectacular decorations, visits with Santa, Snow ‘N’ Glow Dance Parties, North Pole University activities, and a life-size gingerbread house big enough to dine in!
SPRING-A-PALOOZA takes place March 9 To April 15, 2019 and celebrates the Spring season! It’s time to get out of the cold winter blue and step into the warm waves…. even if the Washington weather isn’t cooperating. It’s always sunny at Spring-a-Palooza! From vibrant decorations, hand-made gardens and new, seasonal activities throughout the day; spring will be in full bloom during your stay.
Aside from all the seasonal event, of course when you visit Great Wolf Lodge during any time of year, you will still be able to enjoy all that you expect from Great Wolf Lodge.

I think my biggest treat, was eating at Loge Wood Fire Grill! This was a real treat! I had never eaten hear on any of my previous visits and and am kicking myself for missing out! This is an upscale family restaurant that has top-notch food…. it was simple delicious! I truly wish I could eat here on a regular basis!
Since I was last at Great Wolf Lodge, they have added a few new attraction:
OLIVER’S MINING CO: This was my kids favorite activity. First you start by going though the mirrored mining maze. I tell you this was so well done, that even the adults were having trouble finding their direction. Once you find the “moon stone” you are presented with a dirt bag to sift through. Here, the kids get to mine for gems that they actually get to take home. When you are all bagged up they give you a label and a gemstone identification card to discover your treasures.
HOWL AT THE MOON MINI GOLF: Bring your whole pack to play Howl at the Moon Glow Golf and enjoy an immersive black light experience that brings a nature-themed forest to vibrant life. Nine creatively designed holes will challenge and entertain players of all ages.
HOWLERS PEAK ROPES COURSE: My kids were a little nervous about this, but it ended up being the time that they talked about the most! This outdoor extreme course will get your heart pumping, perfect for both kids and adults. This harnessed course puts you in control, walk the rope, zipline, balance… go high, stay low. it’s up to you. They also have a kiddy course that is only a couple feet off the ground. (Weather Permitting – Be sure to bring shoes for climbing. For your safety, your shoes must be closed-toe and closed heel with rubber soles. Athletic shoes are ideal. No flip-flops are permitted).
