Great technology hacks are always welcomed in my world. After all I interact with so much technology throughout the day, that I crave anything that saves me time or convenience.
These are a few of my favorites technology hacks .
Help For Your Cords
Being a writer and social influencer often has me carrying way too many charging cords. So the way I manage the storage of all the cords to keep them tangle free is with a pencil case. Yes, a pencil case. Hey, do not judge me. (smile) Those cords are expensive to replace and I would rather preserve them on the front end. I usually stock up on pencil cases around back to school time however I have found them at dollar stores as well. Bonus hack: with a sharpie, write on the outside of the pencil case the name of the device your cord goes to. Since everything has a charging cord now, keeping things organized with quick reference is a life saver.
Smartphone Battery Life
Airplane mode is a Smartphone’s BFF. Yes, airplane mode is your best friend forever when charging your phone or traveling via plane or subway. When charging your phone in airplane mode the phone actually charges faster than just leaving it on while charging. Airplane mode also allows you not miss a beat and still see who is calling or texting. When traveling by plane or subway airplane mode allows the benefits of saving the battery by not allowing the phone to search for service which in turn drains your battery.
Smartphone Charger Cord Life
Save the springs from all of your old ink pens. These springs improve the lifespan of your phone charge cords. Just wrap them around the base of the cord near the part you plug in and I guarantee you will eliminate half, if not all, of the future cord shortages from your cord getting bent the wrong way.
The New Alarm
Heavy sleeper? Need more volume and vibration on your Smartphone to really hear the alarm? Well, give it a designated glass! Yes, for best effects put it in an actual glass on the night stand. The volume and vibration will be so clear, crisp and loud that you cannot help but hear it.
Battery Check
Batteries do die before their expiration dates. How do you check to see if they are still good? Bounce them. Yes, bounce your batteries to see if they are still good. One or two bounces and they are good. If they bounce more than that or just roll around they are bad. The bounce drop should be about 5 or 6 inches.
Also, try freezing the batteries overnight to get the last bit of life out of them. Pop them in the freezer. Take them out and use.
Email Game Changers
Stop having to retract incomplete emails by simply leaving the recipient section blank until your email is completed and proof read. This leaves little error for sending an incomplete email. Then fill in the recipient section.
Need email follow up assistance? Well, help is out there. Tame your personal and professional email by using a CMR system. What is CRM? Customer Relationship Management. Install one on your email and get a helping hand for following up and keeping track. Ones I like are Cloze, Less Annoying CRM, HubSpot and the list goes on.
Now, have I made your life more productive and easy with these technology tacks ? Share some of your technology hacks. Which one is your favorite go to?
