Five Spring Cleaning Kitchen Tips
As the cold weather fades and spring begins to sneak into the picture, homeowners everywhere begin to get that itch…the itch to change, clean and organize! The kitchen is often a focal point as we want to let the sunshine in and crave fresh, new ideas. Here are Five Spring Cleaning Kitchen Tips anyone can get behind.
Embrace the fresh
Fresh is good during the spring season and your focus should shift in that direction. Use purchase or pick some fresh flowers to bring indoors, display fresh produce and use fresh decor throughout your kitchen to really kick off the season.
The scent of spring
If you really want to make your kitchen welcoming and inviting, find your particular scent for spring. Everyone has a specific smell that reminds them of spring. Just a few potential scents to try include lilac, lavender, cinnamon, fresh linen, lemon and honeysuckle. Try several and then implement the smell with candles, oils or other great sources.
Reset your cabinets
Changing the inside of your kitchen cabinets around can make your entire kitchen feel fresh and new. By moving things around, you also get a chance to deep clean and reline your shelves.
Use some vertical space for extra storage
Going vertical is a powerful spring time organization tip for the kitchen. Most every kitchen has more space that is wasted than used, so finding your areas can be freeing. Look around and see where you have up-space to utilize! I like hanging fruit baskets or hanging shoe organizers for snacks, spices, or utensils.
Bring in the vinegar
Vinegar is a powerful cleansing source and when you use it in spring it can make you feel like a new person. It works great for windows, mirrors, counter-tops, and pretty much anywhere else you want to spruce things up and power clean.
Spring is here and starting in the kitchen is a good way to get a jump on the season. What are your favorite spring time kitchen tips? Share with us!
