Romantic Ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day at home
Celebrating Valentine’s Day at home doesn’t have to be boring. There are so many ways you can create a romantic atmosphere at home. Best of all, you can also save money. Instead of paying $100 or more for dinner, you can pay $50 or less. You can also enjoy being comfortable rather than all dolled up (unless you want to be). In other words, Valentine’s Day at home can actually be incredibly romantic. Let’s take a closer look at some romantic ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day at home.
Watch the First Movie You Saw in Theaters
What was the first movie you and your spouse saw in the theaters? Even if it was an incredibly horrible movie, find it on Amazon or Vudo and watch it. You can laugh about how bad the movie is. If you loved the movie, you may have it in your collection. Either way, watching the movie together can spark some wonderful memories. Order a pizza and grab some of your favorite movie snacks from the grocery store.
Make a Romantic Dinner
If you love the idea of a romantic steak dinner, do it at home. You can make the dining room table look romantic with some candles. Play some romantic music. Stores usually have great deals on everything you need to make a romantic dinner. You’ll be able to put together a romantic dinner for a fraction of what a restaurant would charge.
Give Each Other Spa Treatments
If you want a relaxing, romantic night, choose a couple spa treatments to give each other. You might take a hot bath filled with scented Epsom salts or give each other a massage. Fill your master bath and bedroom with candles and soft music. Set the mood.
Host Your Own Wine Tasting Or Cocktail Party
Since you will be staying in for the night, why not try a few bottles of cheap wine for fun! Get those little glasses, a cheese and meat platter and have fun rating the wines together. If you are more of a cocktail couple, try a few new cocktail recipes…. who knows, you may find a new favorite.
Have a Game Night
Pull out the cards or games and have a fun game night. You can make it interesting and add a couple of wagers to the game…. ie, winner chooses the movie, winner get’s a back rub. Make it fun and flirty!
Enjoy Some Fresh Strawberries
Strawberries dipped in melted chocolate or whipped cream are incredibly romantic. Feeding the berries to your Valentine is even more romantic.
Do A Puzzle Together
If you are looking for a truly laid back and relaxing Valentines Day, then pull out a puzzle! There is nothing more bonding than working together to complete a common goal! Stay in you PJ’s, grab a cup of coffee and some snacks and concur that 1000 piece puzzle. It’s amazing the good conversation that can come from sitting and working together with no other cares around you.
Do a Craft Together
Last, but not least, if you don’t think doing a craft together can be romantic, go watch the movie Ghost. Whew. Who knew making pottery could be so…intense. You could also paint or do whatever other craft you think your spouse might enjoy.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day at home can be oh so romantic. One of the most important things is to set the mood is with candlelight and romantic music. It’s so much easier to get in a romantic mood when you’re in the privacy of your own home than a crowded restaurant.
