I am quickly posting this NEW Amazon SCAM because as at first glance it is very convincing and I had the immediate WFT reaction.
15 min ago I received and email from “Amazon” thanking me for my order.
My first reaction was OMG my kids just ordered something on their tablet accidentally……SO I CLICKED!!!!
After clicking, this is what I saw….. again WFT, what is this – it looks SO legit. But when I clicked to manage my order, thank goodness Chrome and my Norton security kicked in with this warning and didn’t allow for the link to load on my desktop. I am not sure if I would have gotten that same protection if I were on my phone.
If you get any email like this…. instead of clicking on any link within the email, go to the source, Amazon, your bank, credit card and verify the claimed message of a purchase for yourself.
Luckily for me, I was able to ease my mind by going to amazon directly to verify that no purchases were made AND I had a good security blocking program in place…. otherwise I would have been an easy victim.
Please beware….especially this holiday season. Scammers are getting smarter and more convincing. Please update all your security and virus protections. If you need a recommendation, I use Norton Premium security virus protection (affiliate link).
Please share this Amazon scam information so none of your friends or family are victims.
