Target is one of the top spots for shopping for holiday gifts. Whether you’re budget conscious or short on funds, saving money is always a great thing. While Target isn’t really known for having the best prices in general, you can find awesome deals with discounts, sales and promo codes. Let’s take a closer look at five tips for saving the most this holiday season at Target.
- Use online deal sites
There are hundreds, if not thousands of deals sites online that can help you save money and help you spot unadvertised deals and clearance items. A few of my favorite are Slickdeals, brads deals, shopshare and Gift Avenger.
- Open a RedCard
A RedCard is really necessary to get the best of the best prices at Target. You don’t have to open the credit card version, you can open the one that links to your debit card. There are additional benefits with the credit card, but with the debit card version you’ll get 5% off purchases, free shipping on most items, and even an additional 30 days for returns and exchanges, which we all know can save you a lot of money during the holiday season. All of these perks are on tops of any sales, discounts and promotions.
- Look for Clearance
I love walking the perimeter at Target. If you are a clearance deal hunter then you know exactly what I mean by this statement. Clearance is always a great way to save money. Target marks down items up to 70% off and sometimes even 90%. They make it easy to see the original price (in the lower left corner of the tag), the new price (in the lower right), and even the percentage off (number in the top right corner). Check back often as Target marks down items in different parts of the store throughout the week.
- Scan for Hidden Clearance
Install the Target app on your phone and scan items you’re interested in. You never know when an item will be on clearance and not yet marked. Not only that, but some clearance items may be cheaper than what they say on the sticker.
- Watch for Special Sales
Last, but not least, make sure you’re getting emails from Target so that you never miss a good sale. Companies send out special sales all the time, especially during the holiday season. You’ll also get a heads up on flash sales that last only a few hours.
Still not sure what to shop for, are you having a hard time making that list for all your friends and family? I know this year has been especially hard to come up with fresh ideas. This is why I have turned to Gift Avenger.
Gift Avenger curates gift ideas for all situations and people. They have 100s of curating gift lists for Moms, Dads, brothers, sisters, kids and all kinds of hobbies and interests like Corvette lovers and embroiderers.
Right now Gift Avenger is doing a campaign where they are donating 90% of our revenue to Make A Wish Foundation so you simply read the gift ideas that appeal to you. If you purchase one of the recommendations on sites like Amazon and others they’ll donate the revenue they receive to Make A Wish.
Since you’re gift shopping now anyway, you could get some great ideas and help fund a child’s wish at no cost to you. Our goal is to fund one (at least) critically ill child’s wish this Christmas.
