HAMILTON AT KELLER AUDITORIUM: A MASTERPIECE THAT STILL LEAVES US HELPLESS
Alright, let’s talk about Hamilton—aka the show that STILL manages to blow our minds, steal our hearts, and make us rethink every history class we ever sat through. This 2025 touring cast at Keller Auditorium (running through March 21st) is giving everything—vocals, energy, drama, and enough charisma to have me fully considering a time machine back to 1776.
This is my 4th time seeing the sensational hit Hamilton and I must say, every time Hamilton played by Blaine Alden Krauss makes his first appearance on stage I get chills, absolute chills throughout my whole body, and I am gleaming ear to ear like a 12 year old at their favorite boy band concert. His passion was felt though out the whole auditorium, the love, the anger, the desire, the drive was coming from his soul and radiating out so strong that the audience was in a chokehold.
I have been going to Broadways shows now for a little over 9 years now, and I must say….HANDSDOWN, this was my best show, not just of the 4 Hamilton shows, but my best Broadways show EVER!!!!! That is quite the award to receive when I have seen approximately 75 shows.
There was something a little different about this cast. They had a special pizzazz, an impeccable timing you might say. They just had a different flair that made the whole show more entertaining and even more understandable. I found myself catching on to tone and subtle cues that I missed in previous shows…. they just had that special “it factor” that just comes from a cast that really clicks together and can tell they are really enjoying themselves.
Kendyl Sayuri Yokoyama as Eliza…. Absolutely breathtaking. Her “Burn” had me clutching my chest like I was personally betrayed by Alexander himself. And Jisel Soleil Ayon as Angelica? That woman delivered “Satisfied” with the kind of emotional precision that made me want to start bawling my eyes out. Here absolute effortlessness just made you really feel the pain and anguish in her voice as she handed off her true love to her sister.
Also, let’s not ignore Kameron Richardson as George Washington. Every time he stepped onstage, I couldn’t help but start giggling, before he even said a word. He embraced that character the best I have ever seen. His whit and sarcastic charm had the audience rolling. And Simon Longnight’s Thomas Jefferson? Stop it. He was strutting around that stage with the kind of energy that makes you go, “Okay, fine, maybe Jefferson was kinda cool, but only when YOU play him.”
And can we take a moment for the ensemble? The way they move—every turn, every step, every slow-motion bullet effect—it’s like watching a living, breathing work of art. Andy Blankenbuehler’s choreography is still next-level, and this cast executes it so seamlessly, I was half convinced they were floating across the stage.
The set, the lighting, the way every transition is SO smooth you barely notice it’s happening—it’s magic. And the way this show blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway classics? Still revolutionary. Still iconic. Still making me want to go home and rap history facts at my unsuspecting friends.
If you haven’t seen Hamilton yet, or if you’ve been thinking, “Eh, I saw it once, do I really need to see it again?”—let me be clear: YES, YOU DO. This cast is bringing a fresh energy to a show we already know is a masterpiece, and you do NOT want to miss it.
So grab your tickets, grab a friend, and get ready to cry, cheer, and probably develop a little crush on half the cast. 10/10, would duel for this show.
