Summer, my favorite time of year! Being in the Pacific NW, we embrace our beautiful sunny and DRY days as much as we can! Finally, we get to set out those patio pillows and plant some flowers. We love to gather friends and family by the fire pit and stay out to the wee hours of the night enjoying the warm Summer nights and a S’more.

When this time of year comes around, I am READY TO GET GOING  because I want to take advantage of every Summer day as much as possible. What is my first stop…. Fred Meyer of course! Time to get my one stop shopping done for food, decor, clothing, gardening and games so I can spend less time running around store to store and more time enjoying my time with those I love.

Even though Memorial Day is the official summer kick off, sometimes Oregon doesn’t get the message and 4th of July is usually the first seasonal gathering to have guaranteed nice weather to celebrate outdoors.

This year, 4th of July is going to be a special one! We are already a very large family but with the additional of my first grand baby, a new soon to be daughter in-law and a new brother in-law we are going to have a spectacular party.

I have already started preparing. Fred Meyer is having an amazing sale on all of my outdoor needs, including 30% off on the HD Designs outdoor patriotic collection…. So let’s just say, I had a lot of fun shopping, planning and prepping for summer gatherings and the 4th of July.

I even got my new grand baby a new outfit with patriotic spirit… I couldn’t resist with 70% off on all Carter’s PLUS and additional 15% off…. That is crazy prices.

 

This year I decided to follow the traditional Patriotic theme, embracing the red, white and blue in my planters and flower selection! Fred Meyer currently has select perennial gallons for only $6.99. My thought, is to use these in all my potted decor for the season and them move them to a more permanent home in the garden for years to come.

 

I am also obsessed with the new galvanized steel look. I had purchased several trays, buckets and even an ice container… I figured that these can be used year round and will fit any decor I choose in the future. I did however, want a galvanized steel flower pot to compliment my other accessories and the only option they had was a very large container. The one thing that I love so much about Fred Meyer is their “one stops shop”, even though they may not have had the style I was looking for, I was able to get a large rectangular resin box and a can of “hammered” steel paint spray from their home improvement section and created a great little DIY container for half the price.

When I came home with all my goodies, the boys couldn’t help but be excited to see all that I had gotten. I caved and let them have a S’more before company came, after all Fred Meyer had them on a great deals that made the marshmallows, the chocolate and the graham crackers cost $5 all together, so of course I had to buy 2 sets…. This kept the kids happy as I was setting up for our first get-together of the season.

 

The boys snacked on a S’more or two and got out some much needed energy.

I found this soccer ball for ONLY $5 on clearance among some other seasonal toys to keep the kids in the family occupies while the adults hang out.

I love how my table turned out… as simple as it is, I think it all fits together very well! Over all, everything you see on the table only cost under $60… can you believe that!!!
