Five Unique Uses for Hairspray
Hairspray kind of has a bad reputation and with pretty good reason. The stuff is quick to set off an asthma attack when inhaled for some people and aerosols in general are known to be pretty bad for our environment. So….bad news aside, there are some pretty awesome ways to use this stuff. Hairspray is extremely versatile and can be used in a responsible manner.
Here are five really unique and cool uses for hairspray you probably never thought of:
To avoid slippery zippers
What? If you ever wear tight pants or even snug ones, you know the dangers of a slippery zipper. Some zippers simply slide open rather easily and it can be a very embarrassing situation for you socially. To avoid this silly little problem, spray your zipper with hairspray before putting them on and then again once it is…erm…in place. This will keep it in place nicely.
To quickly remove animal hair from clothing and furniture
If you have pets or simply don’t like to use dryer sheets in your laundry, hairspray can work wonders on your clothes. If you find that you have animal fur or lint of any kind on your clothes, simply get out the hairspray! Spray a liberal amount on a soft cloth and then wipe your clothes with it. The fur and lint will simply come right off onto the cloth.
To keep your live wreath beautiful longer
Wreaths are wonderful but they are not exactly long lasting in most cases. Fortunately you can ensure they stay gorgeous all the way through the holidays and beyond with a simple coating of hairspray. Give every inch of the wreath a good spray and it will be viable much longer than if you let it be.
As a poor man’s sticky goo remover
If you have sticky residue left behind after labels or simply from a kid’s project gone awry, hairspray is a quick and easy solution. Spray the goo liberally and then wipe away with a bit of elbow grease. The hairspray will do the trick as well as any high priced over the counter option and in some cases….even better.
To quick-dry your nail polish
If you find yourself in a hurry after doing your nails, whip out the hairspray for a quick drying solution. Hold the hairspray about a foot away and spray lightly across the nails. The hairspray will dry those nails extremely fast and you will be on your way.
