Fall Festivals – Five Fun Tips to Finally Beat Those Games
We have all been there. You are walking along, minding your own business when suddenly you catch sight of the most adorable plush, pink unicorn you have ever seen. Instantly, your heart is smitten and you amble over to the game to see exactly what you have to do to win this huggie of epic proportions. You watch one, then two people toss the rings onto the bottles and walk away with nothing more than a plastic mood ring that never changes colors.
How do you win that fancy unicorn?
The game operator notices your doubt and quickly springs into action, tossing ring after ring onto the winning bottle with seeming ease. Seeing that it is only a dollar, you give a few rings a try.
One hour later, you have a tiny version of the unicorn and no more money to enjoy the rest of the fall festival. Depressed you go home and curse those bottles that seemingly reached up and smacked away your perfect tosses.
If you have never experienced this, then congratulations. You are in the minority. Most of us have gone through this at least once. The good news is that these games can usually be beaten and they are a ton of fun. I am here to give you tips to have a piece of the goodness.
Here are five tips to help you actually beat those fall festival games.
Walk the entire park before playing
This is a huge part of your success and it is also rather simple. If you skip this part, you will inevitably find an easier game after you have poured your spare funds into a tough one. Look around and find the prizes you like. Then go around and see how many games offer that prize up and which ones are easiest to win at.
Observe for a good while before trying the game
If you watch others try, you will learn some things. For one, you will learn if a game is fixed. Some of the games are virtually impossible to win at while others are relatively easy. This is kind of like the “house” in poker. You have to make money or the games are pointless to have. Observing will quickly ferret out which games are fixed and which are winnable.
Tune out the barkers
The barkers are the guys and gals that will be goading you into playing, messing up and then spending more money. Ignore them and their advice. You will be ahead of the game immediately.
Play to your strengths
Find a game that fits something you are generally good at. If you have never shot a gun, for example, you should probably not try to win a prize in a shooting game. You can play that game, but don’t play over and over trying to win. Stick to what you are good at for the best results.
Get clear rules and regulations on prizes before playing
Many times the barkers will distract you and then come with a rule you never expected. Make them explain exactly how you win the prize you are trying for to have the best success. This is especially important and then keep them to their own rules.
