Yesterday was for first day of Summer and now is the best time to let loose and catch a concert. However, it’s a bummer when your favorite band schedules a show in your town and tickets are sold out by the time you hear about it.
To get ahead of that that, AT&T has put together a list of apps for tracking tour dates of your favorite bands, finding out when tickets go on sale, and discovering new musicians. Get out your blanket and lawn chairs, practice your moonwalk, and download alighter app for your smartphone. It’s time to rock out.
Instead of wondering which concerts to go to, let the brain of Bandsintown do the work. This app searches your music library and tells you which of your favorite artists are coming to town. It also recommends new artists based on the ones in your library. And if you sign up through Facebook, you can see which musicians and shows your friends are loving.
StubHub
With StubHub, you can search by artist, location, or even specific venue to buy your concert tickets. Once you’ve signed up for an account, you can start earning rewards on your purchases, and get access to members-only promotions and discounts. Bought tickets for a show but now you can’t make it? No big deal—use the app or the StubHub website to re-sell them.
You came to the show for the main act but you’re really digging the opener. Open SoundHound and hold up your phone to let it listen. The app can find the name of the band, the song, which album it’s on, and where you can listen to or buy their music. Not listening to the song now, but still want to know what it is? SoundHound music recognition can also identify songs you sing or hum yourself.
DoStuff
When trying to find things to do in the city, who better to trust than the locals? A great app for finding out about what’s happening in your city, DoStuff aggregates the best concerts, comedy, happy hours and parties as recommended by locals themselves.
