Disclosure Policy
In running a website/blog like this, there are two ways to compensate the owner/writer of the site:
1. To charge a monthly fee to the user (like a subscription).
2. To use advertising (like TV or print).
The second option allows you, the reader, to access information for free. Since I know that you are on this site to save you and your family money, I have chosen the second model, which means you will be exposed to advertising on this site. Some of it is obvious (like ads on the sidebar) and some will be less obvious (like affiliate links embedded in the post text). This disclosure policy is my attempt at being transparent in how I use advertising for the purpose of compensation.
I love blogging. And I love that I am able to make money at it. But making money is not my primary purpose. Providing a valuable resource for my readers is my priority. I post deals that I believe my readers will enjoy and benefit from. Sometimes these deals make me money and sometimes they do not.
When I come across a sweet deal, I do try to find a way for the manufacturer, company or promoter to compensate me. Here are the ways I sometimes make money:
Affiliate Links — There are occasions when I am compensated when you click on a link, submit your email address, sign-up for an offer, print a coupon or buy a product or service. There are also occasions when I am not compensated.
