I love to BBQ, being in the Pacific NorthWest our warm, rain free days are very limited, so, during summer we try to live it up and make the most of being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. With as many kids as I have, my life is not as organized as I would like it to be or as it may seem to many. We have baseball, dance classes and play groups throughout the week. So, to plan elaborate parties and meals for my guests is just not in my schedule.
To keep my life simple and to make the most of the free time we have together as a family, I have discovered BUBBA Burger products. I found these at my local Safeway for a very comparable price of what hamburger would cost if I got it by the pound, except without the hassle. BUBBA Burgers are formed, seasoned and frozen 1/3 lb patties that I can have in my freezer ready to go any time, day or night. The great thing about these burgers is that they are ready to go, freezer to grill in minutes. No more dunking your hands in raw meat, forming the perfect patty or seasoning. BUBBA Burgers go straight from the box onto the grill, all while the patty is still frozen. These burgers are gluten free and are made from ONLY U.S.D.A Choice beef chuck. They taste just like fresh homemade, I have bought big box frozen patties before and were very streamlined, like what you would find if you went through a drive through. BUBBA Burgers are great tasting and have high quality standards, a difference you can taste. I enjoy the original patty because I can dress it up and make gourmet burgers, like my Onion Bacon Jam Burger with Blue Cheese. But for those of you that like a little variety in your life…. you should try their other flavors; Sweet Onion, BUBBA Angus Beef, All Natural Turkey, Jalapeno and Reduced Fat.
Onion Bacon Jam
- 1lb thinly sliced onions
- 1/2 lb bacon
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1/4 Dijon mustard
- 1 tbs vinegar
- Pepper
In a skillet (cast iron works best) saute onions and bacon til caramelized, add remaining ingredients and cook on medium-high heat til sauce thickens.
Once sauce has thickened remove from heat and serve.
To make a Onion Bacon Jam Burger with Blue Cheese, BBQ up a nice BUBBA burger patty on the grill til medium or medium well, serve on an onion bun and top with a generous helping of Onion Bacon Jam and Blue Cheese crumbles.
This crowd pleasing meals was finished in 20 min from freezer to plate and cost about $2.50 per serving.
I would say that this is a win for everyone!
