10 Reasons Why you must see Ant-Man and the Wasp in Theaters
Disclosure: I was invited down to LA to view a screening of Ant-Man and the Wasp and attend the interview press junket
Summer time movies are the best! For me, life has usually slowed down a bit and it is time for me to reconnect with everyone that had been hiding behind PTO meetings, dance lessons and baseball. I embrace being able to go on a late night date with my husband, or take the kids to an afternoon movie before lunch. Now that Summer is officially in full swing, I am going to give you 10 reasons why you must see Ant-Man and the Wasp in theaters.
Family Friendly – Marvel have been known to push the envelope on some of their movies with either violence, language or adult humor… not that we all don’t love it, but sometime it is not so appropriate for the younger crowd. I am happy to say that Ant-Man and the Wasp is very family friendly and had very little to be concerned about.
Embraces Family – In a day in age of so many blended families, it is so nice and refreshing to see such love and support for everyone. This movie is a great model of how we can make it work for the better and embrace family in whatever shape it comes in.
Girl Power – This movie fits in perfectly with where we are today and where we are going tomorrow with female equality. With such amazing strong female actresses like Evangeline Lilly “Hope van Dyne / The Wasp” and Hannah John-Kamen “Ghost” you can’t help but get a bit of a girl-power high from watching her so gracefully and femininely kick some major butt 😉
The Men – Oh my…. the men, there is so much to say but I think we can all agree that it can be summed with…..Mmmmmm Damn!!!! I tell you, Michael Douglas “Dr. Hank Pym” has got it going on! I have been a huge fan of his over the years, and I don’t think I have seen a movie that I didn’t love that he was in. And then there was Paul, Paul Rudd “Scott Lang / Ant-Man”, we all fell in love with him in Clueless and on Friends. Being the Ant-Man, he has the perfect wit and comedic humor to make his character unique and one the whole family will love. I also need to send a shout out to my crush Michael Peña, I can’t put my finger on it…. but the way he moves and talks and his arrogant hint is very attractive on him. All of these men have such charisma, confidence and charm that you just can’t help but love them.
Incredible GCI Effects – Let me just say, that this movie had incredible GCI (Computer-generated imagery) effects. The ability to go from micro to macro on not only humans, but buildings, cars, and food is amazing….. let’s just say, you will never be able to look at your kid’s Hot Wheels the same way again. You will get intense visually stimulating graphics throughout this whole movie.
3D – Because of all the special effects that I listed above, I highly recommend you see it in 3D to get the FULL effect. Generally, 3D makes my eyes hurt, but I think with technology getting better and the way that the 3D is applied, I had no problem with a post movie headache.
Dare I say, It is better than the first! – Before I headed down to LA for the Ant-Man and the Wasp screening, I watched the original Ant-Man for the second time just to have it fresh in my memory again….that one is great, but honestly Ant-Man and the Wasp is spectacular and yes, in my opinion better than the first. You can’t really say that about a lot of sequels, but you can tell that the cast is just so comfortable with each other and is having so much fun that their energy, excitement and HUMOR shines in this movie.
Get a good Laugh – Speaking of humor, there is such a genuine talent that you can’t fake. Paul Rudd had a way to just make you chuckle throughout the whole movie and stays on point to the comedy and humor that Marvel is known for.
Marvel Movie Line-up – To stay on track, you are going to want to watch the first Ant-Man and Infinity War (some theaters are still playing this) for you come and see Ant-Man and the Wasp. Ant-Man and the Wasp is also very important because this is a must and is leading up to Avengers 4.
You Don’t Want any Spoilers – I am not going to be the blame of ANY spoilers…. so let’s just leave it to this…. there are two (2) mid and post credit scenes and you do NOT want to miss. Make sure you do not leave the theater before the VERY end!
