Everyone has read a post or two on the things you need to pack for a blog conference…. like your computer and business cards, I think that is a given!
Here are a few thinks you may not have thought of that will make your fun excursion even more exciting and comfortable.
1) An external power source.
This goes way beyond a power charger. Just think you may not be around an outlet , nor do you want to be stuck against a wall while you are charging. These portable power sources are available everywhere, in store and online. To use them, you charge your portable external power source at night, the same time you charge your phone or tablet. In the morning, pack the portable charger in your bag with you and when your phone or tablet starts to loose power, you can plug it into your external charging device and have it provide a full charge while on the go, no down time involved!
2) Retractable ID Badge
These are great to have clipped to your purse, bag, belt or lanyard. Nothing is more embarrassing than being asked for a business card and having to fumble around your purse or bag to find one. These can hold at least 25 business cards and they will be at your hands reach at any moment. They also provide a great walking advertisement by having your card on display through out the trip.
3) Poise
These are a must if you want to feel comfortable. Conferences have long lines and are crazy busy. You don’t want to be caught in a situation that will leave you feeling uncomfortable for the remainder of the day. Not to mention, these conferences are designed to be FUN and there is lots for movement, laughter and “partying”. So I highly suggest you look into getting either Poise Thin-Shape Moderate Absorbency Pads, these are 40% thinner than traditional pads and quickly moves away any moisture with their Dry-Touch top layer. The Thin-flex design moves with your body and offers oder control and comfort with their 3-1 protection for light bladder leaks.
I got mine at RiteAid, as I think they have best prices and always seem to be in stock. If you are not into Poise Thin-Shape pad, you should check out Poise Impressa Bladder Support, these are the first over-the-counter internal device to help stop leaks and is cleared by the FDA and gynecologist-tested.
These Soft and flexible applicators gently lift and give support to the urethra to help stop bladder leaks before they happen. They can stay in place for up to 8 hours, all while still being able to use the bathroom as you normally would! I purchased the sizing kit, this will give me an idea what will work best for me. 4) Light Collapsible Bag
This is a must and a given, you will need a strong bag for all those papers, cards and GOODIES. Something small and light weight would be best because when it is not in use it can be rolled up and put in you purse so you are not lugging around an empty bag all day.
5) Hand Sanitizer
This is one of my favorite products. Hand Sanitizer has so many uses. Of course the obvious… it will help kill all those hand shaking germs you will be passing around BUT it also will work as an emergency deodorant… killing all that stinky and embarrassing stress B.O. smells And, finally you can use it as a quick dry shampoo. You will be running around like crazy during your trip and may lack the freshening up time you need. If you rub a little hand sanitizer on to the greasy root area of your hair and let it dry, the alcohol will absorb any excess oils in your hair, leaving it fresh and revived.
There you have it 5, unique essentials for a blog conference. Do you have any tips or ideas? I would love if you shared in the comments below 🙂 Check out RiteAid for all the essentials mentioned above!
