Five Great Ways to Stay In Shape This Fall
There is something about the Fall season that makes you want to kick back and relax. Perhaps it is the changing temperatures, great comfort food and the feel good cozy feeling of the holiday seasons to come. Whatever the case, Fall is notorious for being a danger spot to add a few pounds. So how do we prevent that? Willpower, yes…but having a plan is even better. If you know in advance some things you can do, then your chances of success increases dramatically.
Here are five ideas for ways to stay in shape this Fall and stay there:
Commit to the steps
Definitely invest in a Fitbit It seems rather simple and it is, but small habit changes can make a big difference. During the fall season and the winter season to come, you will be out shopping more than ever. We are always on the go anyway, but the holiday season tends to put that on fast forward. Commit to taking the steps everywhere you go. No elevators, escalators or short cuts. Take the long way!
Make an indoor plan
Most people use bad weather to avoid working out or exercising and Fall weather is the perfect excuse. Because there will be rainy and cold days, you need to have a number of indoor exercise ideas to draw on when that happens. Knowing ahead of time will keep you on your toes and prevent those excuses. Keep on hand a few exercise videos or some weights
Go Veggies
Fall is a wonderful time to enjoy the bounties of your vegetables and fruit harvest. You can really save by going to them as the primary source of your meals. Taking out some of the meat here and there can really go a long ways towards cutting calories. Veggies are a great solution to mid may munchies…. If I am prepared with a snack, I will be less likely running through the drive through.
Find a partner…or two
You always should have a partner to make certain you stay on track and one usually doesn’t cut it. Your partner will have bad days too. Why not have more than one to train with and make sure you stay on point? The odds of both having an off day are slim. Be there for them and they will be there for you, accountability is SO important. Motivation is key!
Find your passion sport
Every single person out there has a sport or activity that they simply love, for me it is dance or zumba ( check out these great at home DVD’s). Your passion sport is the one that fills you up inside and that you can’t wait to enjoy. Golf, bowling, water aerobics, soccer, baseball, Frisbee….even kite flying. Whatever gets you motivated to get off the couch. Find yours by looking for new classes or teams to join. Many community centers or even community colleges have fitness to team groups you can join…. find one and enjoy it all season long.
Fall is perfect for staying in shape or getting back into shape! If you can get ahead off the triggers with good habits and motivation. Spend some time on the tips above and you will have a fun and stay fit this Fall season!
