General Mills sponsored this post, but the opinions on Banana Nut Cheerios are my own.
IT’S TIME! Either you are trying to repress your excitement about back to school or you are sad that it has come too soon. Whatever side of the fence you are on, the kids are back to school getting ready for the second semester. It is crazy to think that we are just past the halfway mark of the school year, I truly feel like it just started.
After all the holiday treats and goodies, my kids have gotten used to running straight for the leftover pie in the morning. I have to put my foot down and said, “the party is over kids!” I’m committed to feeding my kids a well balanced breakfast to boost their spirits, fill their tummies
and start second semester off right!
Part of this commitment is being prepared. You may laugh, but this is harder than you may think with a large family! We easily go through a box of cereal in a day or 2….. Yes, 2 gallons of milk a day. Here are a few things I will be stocking up on and hiding from my 17 year old so my
supply lasts more than 24hrs. 😉
Banana Nut Cheerios, Chocolate Cheerios, Strawberry Cheerios
- General Mills cereals like Banana Nut Cheerios, Chocolate Cheerios, Strawberry Cheerios, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, and Lucky Charms Frosted Flakes at Walmart
- Several gallons of milk
- Orange juice
- Fresh fruit
- Canned fruit
- Baggies for portion control
If you haven’t been down the cereal aisle at your local Walmart yet, then you may be surprised by some of the new and exciting flavors that you AND your kids will love.
It’s Banana Nut Cheerios Time
You will find General Mills cereals like Lucky Charms Frosted Flakes, Banana Nut Cheerios, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shreds and Peanut Butter Chocolate Shreds.
My personal new favorite flavor is the Banana Nut Cheerios, the flavor is so true, if you know what I mean, no artificial off taste. And…. off the record, I have a box of the Lucky Charms Frosted Flakes hidden in my office, just for me to enjoy without having to fight the kids for
them. 😉
General Mills has been committed to improving the quality of their cereals by reducing their sugar content over the last decade and by including at least 10 grams of whole grain per serving in all General Mills cereals.
It’s a #NewYearNewCereal start! Head on over to Walmart and get stocked up on all the goodness, so you and your kids can start the second semester like a rockstar!

These flavored Cheerios are becoming my “go to” snacks – without the milk. I eat them dry and sometimes combine with a little air-popped popcorn. Haven’t tried the banana yet. Looking forward to it!
